Kenya has a rich diversity of climate, natural resources, wildlife and habitats of it’s people with their rich cultures. It’s not possible to see and appreciate Kenya in a hurry, and therefore one needs to decide on one attraction at a time.
1. MARA SERENA SAFARI LODGE Located at the very centre of the famous ‘Mara Triangle’ of the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve, the Mara Serena Safari Lodge is the ultimate safari destination. Set high on a bush-cloaked hill with long views over the savannah and down to the winding coils of the hippo-filled Mara River, it stands centre-stage to one of Africa’s most dramatic wildlife arenas, with a ringside seat for the ‘greatest wildlife show on earth’, the legendary migration of the wildebeest.
2. Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club
The Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club is an impressive Victorian style hotel overlooking a spectacular 18-hole championship golf course with tastefully decorated rooms.
Whether in Nairobi for business, pleasure or both, Windsor offers a breathtakingly beautiful oasis of comfort and tranquility. An ideal venue for conferences, business & leisure travellers.
3. Diamonds Dream of Africa Welcome to Diamonds Dream of Africa, where the enchanting force of nature melds with the exotic Indo-Arabic architecture to create a hypnotic charm, which, in Swahili, is known as bembeleza.
4. Lake Nakuru
Lake Nakuru National Park is home to the famous pink flamingoes. It also offers viewing of various other species of animals and birds.
5. Mount Kenya
Mt Kenya is Africa’s second-highest peak but it stands in no mountain’s shadow when it comes to trekking. Its many peaks offer some of the best snow-capped ascents in the world’s wildest continent. While hiking in Africa does come with a cost, climbing Mount Kenya is a great alternative to Kilimanjaro for those on a shoestring budget.
I hope ya’ll love Kenya now, the narrow list notwithstanding.
It’s been a bit over 2 years since my son and i spent time in Kenya – what an adventure! We arrived a couple days early before our tour so we could gad about Nairobi – the museum was awesome and i was quite the attraction for the hundreds of school girls who were on school outing. (i have long hair and white skin) . We spent the bulk of our time in the hospitality of House in the Wild on the Enonkishu Conservancy outside Narok. We learned a lot about how Kenyans manage livestock grazing, attended a stock market auction, and tour the Maasai Mara. Picnicking with like-minded tourists on the banks of the Mara is an experience not to be missed. Looking forward to reading more about Kenya from your writings.
